Worcestershire FA Fair Play Winners 2007 - 2008

Worcestershire FA Fair play award 2007-2008

Ferndale Youth Under 13's ran out winners on Saturday 18th October, despite loosing their first home game at Baxter college, when they were joined by representatives of the Worcestershire Football Association. Colin Waldron. Mick Thompson and Jenny Burchill came to watch the fixture and after the game awarded the girls with the Worcestershire FA Fair Play Award for last season.

The award was made to the team after they were nominated to The County FA by the Mercian league, following being scored during the season by opposing teams in the league on such aspects as positive play, respect of the laws of the game & towards match officials and the behavior of all team members and spectators. The FA representatives then visited a game along with the the teams nominated from other leagues within the county, to make their final decision.

The Girls were presented with the Shield by Jenny Burchill, Girls & Women's Football Development Officer for the Worcestershire FA, along with individual medals for the whole team.

Congratulations to the whole team on this achievement.

The club has training facilities for girls aged 6 upwards, including a ladies team, with teams for most age groups. Any girls interested in playing football can contact the club through their website www.ferndalegirlsfc.moonfruit.com or call Paul Lacey, Director of Football on 07940 484332
