A disappointing start to the season with our girls not playing to there

full potential, 1-0 down after only 5 mins saw the girls lift their game

and after some neat play and a through ball to Harriot Simpson she calmly

chipped the keeper to make it 1-1, Worcester pilled on the pressure and

scored two more goals before half time. second half was very hard for our

girls as Worcester went from stength to strength, Jody Fox did some great

saves in goal to try and keep us in with a shout but could do nothing to

stop the Worcester fowards, 4 more goals before the final whistle we were

realy out played, player of the match went to Rachel Birch who gave 100%

and kept to her position.

Ferndale Youth 2 v 8 Newtown Sports

Ellie Johnson 2

This was the much awaited Semi Final in the Mercian Cup. Newtown travelled to Kidderminster for a mid-day kick off.

It was looking like being a thrilling game as the game started up tempo. Newtown opened the scoring, Ferndale’s Ellie Johnson equalised, and Newtown scored again, three goals within just over 5 minutes. However things went downhill for Ferndale, when the opposition scored again. Ellie managed to pull another goal back, but from this point the Ferndale Girls were out played , seeing another 5 goals scored by Newtown. Final Score 2-8

Girls of the Game went to Gemma Ratcliffe in a game that was disappointing for the home team.

Good Luck to Newtown in the Final.
